Description
When I was first introduced to Catan, I played so much I quickly beat up my cardboard hexes that came with the game. This inspired me to look for a more durable set – and ultimately to make one. These sturdy walnut tiles are made for the long haul and pay tribute to each resource hex from the game. Each has been finished to provide a nice smooth texture and distinct color. The 5-6 player expansion set is available via separate listing.
The custom hexes are made to work with your existing Settlers of Catan Game. This Catan-inspired standard set includes a 6-piece border set, a custom robber token, 9 harbor tokens, and 19 resource tiles that have lacquers of various colors for each resource:
1 desert, 4 sheep (albeit 1 is a black sheep), 3 brick, 4 wheat, 3 ore, and 4 wood hexes
Additionally, 18 number tokens are included:
• Numbers 3-11 (2 each)
• Number 2 and 12 (1 each)
The border is a finished walnut with a blue lacquer on 1 side. There are insets for ports to sit within.
The set can also be personalized to include your name or custom text engraved on the desert hex. Please specify your custom engraving at time of order (i.e., Settled by Mary or Settled by the Bakers). You will be sent a desert proof for approval prior to your board being laser cut. Please note: All GameMason items are sized to work with your existing Settlers of Catan game. You must own the Settlers of Catan game by Klaus Teuber in order to use and enjoy this board.
The walnut pieces are .224 inches thick and have been finished with various lacquers on one side only. Each has a high grade appearance and are consistent in thickness.
The set includes walnut items only – not Catan game pieces. Also, please note that there are variances in the appearance of the pieces that is reflective of the natural variances in wood – i.e. some hexes are darker, some lighter, etc.
